At Sonya's House
We returned to Brisbane saying very few words.
We got to Sonya’s where both of us had a drink – Rod had a few Bourbons. We stayed up chatting to Bob and Sue (Rod’s brother and sister) and Sonya and Clinton. It was nice to catch up.
The next morning we all got ready for Pop’s funeral with the hot topic being “Shoes” – I was the sure winner!
The service was very lovely. What a character Pop was. Gary (and Sue) did a fantastic job of organising everything and speaking. Afterwards we went to Hornets Footy Club where Sonya and Clinton organised food platters – great idea! Everyone caught up and chatted and Pop would have been so happy to see so much family together.
We left by 3pm to return to Ballina in search for Puddy.
Sadly, we left Ballina after a very emotional day bawling our eyes out. Mitchell, Rod and I cried ourselves to sleep. We were devastated. We stayed 20km south of Ballina in a place called Broadwater.
